Postdoctoral position in Small-Volume Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies (

Avenida Camilo Jose Cela nº 10, 13170. Ciudad Real.

University of Castilla-La Mancha ( (

The project deals with the design and fabrication of microchips of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR chips (figure)) together with their application in the study of processes in protein surfaces. The use of NMR-chips enable an enhancement of the mass-sensitivity of NMR spectroscopy and allows the detection of picomole amount of material. In addition, the NMR chips offer also the possibility of using continuous flow methodologies enabling an efficient monitoring and optimization of chemical processes. The project is developed in collaboration with the BioNanotechnology group from University of Wageningen (

We are looking for a highly motivated researcher to join our group as a postdoc for a period of one year and a half (with a potentially extension). The candidate should have a PhD in chemistry, biology or physics and a solid background in solution state NMR spectroscopy. Knowledge in NMR hardware and NMR pulse sequences is highly valuable. Starting date: June 2016.

Interested candidates should send their CV and a cover letter explaining their interest and motivation to M. Victoria Gómez ( ( Recommendation letters are also valuable
